An Alum's Impact

App helps children in foster care understand their rights

CNN featured an app created by Equal Justice Works' 2025 Distinguished Alumni Awardee, Taylor Sartor. During her Equal Justice Works Fellowship, Taylor created a "Know Your Rights" guide for Florida youth in foster care. That evolved into the FosterPower app, the first of its kind, which empowers youth in foster care with information on benefits and legal rights.
